FRVA Enters Exclusive Partnership with RV Overnights

posted in: WMHA News 0

Family RV Association (FRVA) recently signed an exclusive agreement with RV Overnights, a membership platform that connects RVers with small businesses for unique overnight stays. The hosts in the system do not charge an overnight camping fee. Guests are simply asked to support the business by making a purchase while visiting

Family RV Association members who sign up for the program — normally priced at $49.99 — receive an exclusive 40% discount, making it only $29.99 annually. Best of all, members can lock in this price for life

FRVA national president Paul Mitchell said, "We are excited to partner with RV Overnights as the company continues to grow its network of exciting places for RV owners to visit and stay. We're happy to offer Family RV Association members the lowest cost to access host locations across the United States and Canada for the duration of their RV Overnights membership."

To find fun places to stay, RV Overnights members can search over 14 host categories — from Farms to Wineries to BBQ Joints. In addition, there are 27 different search filters for amenities, hookups, additional nights, and more. The platform also lists 70,000+ RV resources, helping users locate propane fills, dump stations, repair facilities, etc. Helpful map layers provide information about weather, boondocking lands, and more. RV Overnights' convenient website and phone app make it easy to search, request, and stay at host locations.

Western RV Association President’s Message

Welcome to the Western RV Association of FRVA website!

As the President of the Western RV Association, I am thrilled to welcome you to our vibrant community. Our purpose is to bring together and open up the lines of communication among the Western Area Chapters. We host area rallies, RV shows, and assist FRVA with the National Conventions that fall within the Western Area.

One of our most anticipated events is the annual rally held in Indio, CA, during the first part of January. This rally attracts RV enthusiasts from near and far to gather at the Indio Fairgrounds. It is the only area rally that features a theme parade, floats, games, and tons of fun. Whether you're an RV owner or simply curious about the lifestyle, this rally is open to everyone. You don't need to belong to a chapter to participate, but chapter membership is encouraged as it adds significant opportunities for fun and fellowship, and gives you the chance to use your RV more frequently.

If you are not yet a member of a chapter, I invite you to explore all the Western Area Chapters listed on this website. Each chapter has its own outings and places of interest they select to visit. Most chapter outings are open to all FRVA members, whether you live in California or are just passing through.

I encourage you to explore this website and capture the essence of the Western Area activities.

Warm regards,

James McDaniel

President, Western Recreational Vehicle Association (WRVA)

FMCA Renames to FRVA

The Family Motor Coach Association (FMCA) has changed its name to Family RV Association (FRVA) to better reflect its mission of supporting owners of all types of RVs. The name change was decided by the FMCA Governing Board during its annual meeting on August 14, 2024. FMCA .developed a new logo to accompany the revised name and is in the process of transitioning to the new brand. FMCA was founded in 1963 and has been helping RVers form connections with fellow RV travelers for over 60 years.

To better reflect its mission of welcoming and supporting owners of all types of RVs, Family Motor Coach Association (FMCA) is doing business as Family RV Association. The association developed a new logo to accompany the revised name, as well as a rollout of the new brand.

The new name retains the word "Family," something that has been at the heart of the association since its founding in 1963 and has been part of the "Your RVing Family" tagline the organization has used for several years. For association members, "Family" goes beyond the conventional sense of the word and extends to the entire community of RV owners. Many members develop close bonds with their fellow members — another type of "family" — turning strangers into lifelong friends and travel companions. The new name also incorporates "RV," to clarify the organization's focus as an RV travel and lifestyle community.
